2.05pm Wincanton – Coeur Blimey 3pts Win (13/8)
After a very eye-catching run in a Cheltenham Handicap in November, Coeur Blimey went straight into my tracker. He was pitched wide most of the way and didn’t jump particularly fluently, but he should have learnt plenty from that experience. Having never been outside of the first 2 when encountering soft ground (including when he beat Ballyandy), a second to Air Horse One on his penultimate start is another strong piece of form. I’ll be shocked if this horse doesn’t have a handicap in him off a mark of 121.
2.25pm Market Rasen – Huntsman Son 2pts Win (11/4)
This lightly raced 7 year old looks to have been given a massive chance on his handicap debut with a mark of 115. A winner of 2 Point to Points and placed in both of his starts under rules, he knows what it takes to win. Not far behind 3 time winner Wicked Willy on his hurdling debut, he made a very promising return to the track from over a year off at Uttoxeter last month when second to the useful Who’s My Jockey, the 3rd and 4th have since both filled the runner up spot. This opening mark of 115 could be an absolute gift under an in-form Harry Bannister who’s won on 7 of his last 19 mounts.
