3.25pm Market Rasen – Craggaknock 2pts Win (4/1)

Rated 79 on the flat, Craggaknock had been a good servant to Mark Walford. He won his first two novice hurdles boasting decent form before being soundly beating by Neon Wolf in the Grade 2 Rossington Main at Haydock last January. Rated 135 at that stage he lost his way a bit and is now rated 120. A switch of yards to Richard Guest seems to have sparked Craggaknock back into life as he ran a really good race in second last time on stable debut behind a very well-handicapped horse in Westend Story. The third has come out and won since and with Craggaknock racing off the same mark today, this looks a great opportunity to get back in the winners enclosure for his new handler.

4.00pm Market Rasen – Just Minded 3pts Win (7/4)

Just Minded hasn’t shown he’s the best jumper of a fence in his three starts chase starts to date, but the latter effort was more encouraging as he jumped better in a much stronger race than he contests here. He has strong novice hurdle form in beating Top Ville Ben and finishing second to Ami Desbois, so the ability is clearly there and he is surely better than a mark of 119. This doesn’t look like a particularly strong race and this course winner should be getting off the mark over the larger obstacles today.
