3.15pm Market Rasen – Solomon Grey 2pts Win (5/2)
Likely to be a warm order in this contest on his handicap debut, this looks a good opportunity for Solomon Grey to take advantage of his opening mark. He has been a very consistent sort for Dan Skelton having never finished out of the places, his bumper form is rock solid, not beaten far in any of them behind Top Ville Ben, Maria’s Benefit, Gunfleet and Court Liability who have all gone on to good things in their careers to date. His hurdling debut second behind Supreme fancy If The Cap Fits is a strong piece of form and he was behind that rival again in a competitive race at Kempton on Boxing Day. Diese Des Bieffes was in second on that occasion and he was sent of favourite for the Lanzarote Hurdle off a mark of 135 and came 5th. Sandwiched between those efforts, Solomon Grey beat Knocknannuss in good style. Based on all this his opening mark of 130 looks more than workable and with the yard coming back into form with a couple of wins yesterday, Ch’Tibello and No Hassle Hoff both running well I can see this talented grey taking all the beating.
