3.00pm Lingfield – Abe Lincoln 2pts Win (2/1)
We’re starting to see a little more of Ryan Moore back in the UK now, him and Jeremy Noseda will hope to already have one win on the board by the time this race comes around following their long odds chance Walk In The Sun in the 2.30pm. Abe Lincoln was subject to a gamble when sent off favourite for the Royal Hunt Cup last year after 370 days off the track, but he didn’t oblige that day, but the intent shows what regard connections hold him in. He came on for his reappearance run when winning over 7f at Wolverhampton last time out, it took him a long time to get going that day and needed every yard of that trip, hitting the line strongly. He steps up to 1m2f for the first time today and I think that’s a good move, given his lightly raced profile and room for improvement, he should take the beating off a mark of 95.
3.30pm Lingfield – Zest 2pts Win (9/4)
The conditions of this race very much suit Zest, who was behind Carolinae and Stellar Surprise at Wolverhampton last time but was conceding them 5lbs and 8lbs respectively. Competing off level weights here definitely gives her an advantage. She’s 1-2 over course and distance including a second in a Listed race, splitting the talented pair of Muffri’Ha and Promising Run. This is Daniel Muscutt’s only ride at Lingfield today so hopefully it’s a winning one and Zest looks the value bet.
4.00pm Lingfield – Intermodal 1pt Win (15/2)
Intermodal had his first run for Joseph Tuite following a 57 day break at Kempton at the start of the month and that should bring him on for this. He started life in handicap company off a mark of 75 following his maiden win but is now 10lbs below that rating, which he should be capable of defying. He has quite a few things going for him today being well drawn, Oisin Murphy in the saddle and he is wearing a first time tongue tie for this further step up in trip. If the equipment has the desired effect I think he’ll go well.
