2.05pm Kempton – A Momentofmadness 2pts Win (11/4)

A Momentofmadness has turned into a talented sprinter for Charlie Hills who has had two appearances at Kempton and won both. He got beaten by Tomily on his comeback at Lingfield, but he was slowly away that day which is unusual for him and therefore should be sharper today. He is also better off at the weights with that rival here as that one has gone in again since, I expect the form to be reversed and A Momentofmadness to make it 3-3 at Kempton.

2.40pm Kempton – Raucous 1pt Win (11/2)

Having been in the care of William Haggas throughout his career, Raucous has moved to the sprint master Robert Cowell over the winter after his form tailed off last season. But if the change of yard has sparked him back into life then he is extremely well-handicapped off a mark of 94. He’s only had one start of the all-weather and that yielded a victory which happened to come on last years seasonal return which he makes today.

5.00pm Kempton – See Of Rome 1pt Win (8/1 bet365, 15/2 general)

There are a few unknowns with See Of Rome but I think they’re factored into his price and he makes plenty of appeal on his first start of the year. His pedigree screams stayer and this new trip should see him in a much better light throughout this season. Nicola Currie has had a brilliant all-weather campaign and she claims 5lb here meaning See Of Rome is carrying just 8st on his back, when comparing that to the top weight who has 9st10lbs, it’s a huge difference! He’s very much unexposed under today’s conditions and with his trainer going well, can make a winning start to the campaign.

8.15pm Wolverhampton – Derek Duval 2pts Win (3/1)

A course and distance winner on his penultimate start, he was then sent off favourite at Kempton but disappointed slightly there in what I thought was a stronger race, a return to this track will definitely suit him. Competing in better class contests for the majority of last season, he’s much better suited to this grade and being just 3lbs higher than his last win that shouldn’t be enough to stop him.
