1.50pm Redcar – Awake My Soul 1pt Win (5/1)

These soft underfoot conditions will be of no problem to Awake My Soul who won under stamina sapping circumstances at Haydock back in September. He ran well in a higher class of race last time out and was half a length second in this race last year off a 5lb higher mark. Trainer Tom Tate is in good form with 2 winners from his last 5 runners and his inmate can go close here.

3.05pm Exeter – Above Board 2pts Win (7/4)

Barry Geraghty has just the one ride at Exeter today and it’s Jonjo O’Neill’s unexposed chaser, Above Board. He’s beaten the now 133 rated Ballyhill in a bumper and in his 3 completed starts since has won a couple and was second in the other. He cantered to victory ahead of a subsequent winner on his chase debut and this mark of 123 could be underestimating him.

6.45pm Kempton – Mr Pocket 0.5pts Each Way (16/1)

Mr Pocket hasn’t won since his seasonal reappearance back in April, but that was a dead-heat with the much improved Goodwood Crusader off just 2lbs lower. He’s had a little break and on his comeback last month over this course and distance, nothing went right. Drawn wide, he got cut off immediately after the start and was stuck out the back. Coming out of stall 2 today he should be able to get a much better early position and the addition of first time cheekpieces can see him outrun his odds.
