1.00pm Haydock – Waterlord 2pts Win (2/1)
Donald McCain has been in good form as of late with 6 winners from his last 27 runners, including a treble at this track last Saturday. Waterlord has performed well in his two starts for the yard to date, 6th in a Listed race at this track while being held up from a slow pace and a comfortable win on heavy ground at Bangor following that. Conditions will suit today and I don’t see much in this race that will give this 3 time bumper winner trouble.
1.15pm Newbury – Remiluc 2pts Win (7/4)
Everything looks set for Remiluc to get his head back in front for the first time since March. He goes chasing today in which his mark is 12lbs lower than over hurdles, this is his favoured track with form figures of 2312 on his last 4 visits. This heavy ground will suit and with just 10st11lbs on his back, I’ll be very surprised if he doesn’t put in a bold show.
3.00pm Newbury – Poetic Rhythm 2pts Win (11/4)
I can pick holes in all the other runners in this race, but Poetic Rhythm looks to hold huge claims to me. The form of his third last time out behind On The Blind Side and Momella really is smart, especially as he was conceding weight. He goes well under testing conditions and with the emphasis here being on stamina, should bring out even more improvement from this Grade 2 winner.
